Wow… how the Lord provides! 🙌
Let me share a little God‑story we’ve been living these past couple of days.
We woke up Thursday morning in a hotel in Louisiana, fully expecting to drive into Texas, grab another hotel for a night or two, and then stay with a friend once they were available. The plan was simple: two or three days in Texas, visit our friend, then continue on our way.
We had also reached out to several pastors, hoping to line up interviews. We awoke Thursday with a responds from one of them: “Yes! I’d love to be part of your craziness! And by the way… let me put you up until I get back into the area, because I am not available till Monday”
And just like that, the Lord opened a door we didn’t even know He knock on.
We spent the weekend in a beautiful three‑bedroom home in a small town south of Fort Worth. Not only did they give us a place to stay — the fridge was fully stocked! We rested, prepped for upcoming filming locations, caught up with friends we rarely get to see, and enjoyed some truly fabulous Texas‑style food.
Then Sunday night, we packed up again and drove out to a 720‑acre ranch in northwestern Texas. We arrived to a home‑cooked meal and were settled into cozy cabins scattered across the property. The ranch belongs to the Lord and is stewarded by Open Door Church. It hosts all kinds of retreats, but their heartbeat is caring for those in high‑demand roles — police officers, servicemen, pastors — giving them space to breathe, regroup, and recharge in the presence of the Lord.
The next day we spent filming with Pastor Troy Brewer — a bold, joy‑filled Texan doing incredible work for the Kingdom. His calling has been rescuing children from trafficking, and he’s spent more than 30 years saying “yes” to that mission. His stories sound like something Hollywood would script, yet they’re all real… and all a testament to what God can do when someone simply chooses obedience. It’s absolutely invigorating.
I’d love to tell you this is the end of this chapter and that we’re packing up tonight to head for the next filming location — but, as usual, the Lord has other plans.
If you had asked me what God might do on this journey, I never could have imagined this. Watching Him open doors, connect us with people, and guide every step has been astounding.
So yes… we’ll be in Texas longer than expected. And honestly? I’m excited. I can’t wait to see what these new connections will bring.
What happens next — well, I just can't say! But I’m eager to find out. Aren’t you?
