My devotions this morning were in Psalm 103, starting out with pure gratitude and praise: “Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!”

I am grateful that the location we are staying at for the next couple days allows me to be able to walk out my door and be surrounded by nature. Being able to enjoy some early morning quietness while walking with the Lord in this environment is a favorite of mine. During this early morning walk an eagle flew down and landed on a nearby tree. 🦅 So majestic! He seemed to enjoy the fact that most of the world was still asleep as much as I was.
Verse 5 of today’s Psalm noted “…your youth would be renewed like the eagles” - seems the Lord wanted to bring the pages of His word to life today.

Today we started filming! I am grateful for yet another sunny day to enjoy!
Today we visited Roan Mountain, whose trails cross back and forth between North Carolina & Tennessee. The trails are surrounded by rhododendron bushes filled with buds. I can only imagine what this mountain must look like in a couple weeks when they are in full bloom, and the need to come back here one day to see it is now added to my future travels list!
A quick hike up the forested mountain side, and the view opens up at the top to reveal a 360-degree view of the rolling mountains that surround us. The shading of them seems to change from green to blue to purple as our eyes span the never-ending horizon, North Carolina on one side, and Tennessee on the other. How beautiful is your creation, Lord! Thank you for blessing us with views not easily forgotten!
This mountain is part of the Appalachian Trail, and seeing the trail trace the neighboring hilltops has me yearning to follow them. But that trail is for another day. Today we drop our packs at the top of the ridge, and start pulling out the multitude of instruments which measure and count and search. Ready to see what will or won’t be revealed.

I won’t reveal the focus of today’s filming, as that’s for you to experience when the film is complete. But getting to enjoy God’s handiwork while traveling with my family is truly a blessing, and for all He has provided I am truly Grateful. ❤️
